Inspired by the nine sacred gemstones representing the Navagrahas (celestial deities) in Vedic astrology, Navratna unfolds as a series of nine movements, each embodying a distinct gemstone and its own energetic and cosmic landscape. The “Pearl/Moon” pas de deux centers on lunar forces: balance, waves and tides, and the tension of bodies in orbit. While gently nodding to the legacy of Jewels, this work reimagines that lineage through a distinctly South Asian lens.
